Description
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Precourse Self-Assessment evaluates a student’s knowledge before the course to evaluate proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice.
Things to know before taking this course:
All students must complete the Precourse Self-Assessment and achieve a score of at least 70% before taking the PALS Course.
Students must print their scoring report and bring it with them to class.
Should you leave the course and need to return, you will need to select from the following options. Please note the option details below.
• Retake - allows you to start over from the beginning (Selecting this will not retain any of your previous progress)
• Resume - allows you to pick up where you left off (If you have already completed the Precourse Self-Assessment and need to get back to your scoring report, please select this button)
• Review - allows you to see what questions you got right and wrong after you have completed the Precourse Self-Assessment
Audience:
The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Manual
Textbook is required for the class. Any student who does not have the correct book or does not bring the book will have to purchase one on the day of the course. You have the option to purchase the required printed version OR the eBook (eBooks can take up to 24 hours to receive).
The AHA PALS Provider Manual contains all the information students need to successfully complete the AHA PALS Course. The PALS Provider Manual is for use by a single student and provides information needed before, during, and after class. This manual includes the PALS Reference Card, which is also sold separately (25-1118).

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) initial full course is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. Accelerated Course and Blended includes in-person practice, review and skills testing.
Please note that the latest Guidelines of PALS Initial by American Heart Association suggested curriculum is now 10-12 hours or 2 full day, including skills check and written exams. Advance preparation is highly advise. Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse works will be provided with your confirmation email. With Healthforce we try our best to complete the discipline within 10 hours depending on class size and shorten breaks. for classes more than 8 students may take longer hours. Usually we cater small class sizes, so expect to finish training in an average of 10 hours for initial, and 6 hours PALS Accelerated and renewal. It is required at least to take the Pre Assessment test which will be emailed to you after your registration as your borderline knowledge about the PALS course. Prerequisite: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider card. If your BLS card is expired, we get to be able to renew it with your PALS Class - just click the "BLS Renewal" during the booking process. An additional- discounted rate will be added to your fee. You will be taking 2 exams to complete the course- BLS and PALS Written Exams. If you do not have taken an American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider course before, or do not have a valid AHA BLS card before, you must take a full initial BLS course. After successful completion you will be issued a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Card and PALS Provider Card all under American Heart Association.
American Heart Association eCard/Certificate will be issued right after the training. Same Day.
