Doctor running in New York City Marathon stops to offer CPR to a woman

Most runners in the New York City Marathon sprint towards the finish, but one man ran the other way to help an unconscious woman. Theodore Strange was hoping to finish the 26-mile course in under four hours, but instead he stopped to give a woman CPR. Strange stayed until emergency services arrived at the scene and stayed to help emergency responders use a defibrillator on her.

The woman, who remained unconscious, was transported to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, while Strange finished the race in five hours, 16 minutes and 47 seconds.
